This time of year always reminds me how much experiences really matter. The conversations, the traditions, the people we love - exactly as they are, right now. And yes, the photos too. Take lots of them. Pass your phone to someone else. Make sure you are in them. Those are often the images that end up meaning the most.

As I reflect on the year behind us, I&rsquo;m incredibly grateful for the families and couples who trusted me with their stories. From welcoming new babies, to memorializing a beloved pet, and everything in between. Being invited into these moments is something I never take lightly.

As a family photographer, I&rsquo;ve always believed that your images are yours first. I&rsquo;m honoured to be invited into your lives to capture the people you love most, and I want you to feel 100% comfortable every step of the way &ndash; including when it comes to privacy.

In today&rsquo;s world, I understand that privacy is becoming more and more important, especially for families where one or both parents may be in sensitive roles like law enforcement, education, or public-facing careers. Whether you're in one of these positions or simply prefer to keep your family life off the internet, I&rsquo;m here to respect that.

How I Handle Privacy
All of my contracts include a standard model release, which gives me permission to share your images on my website, social media, and other promotional materials. Sharing this work is how I grow my business, and I&rsquo;m so grateful when families trust me enough to showcase their stories &ndash; it truly means the world.
&nbsp;
That said, your privacy always comes first, and I offer a few options so you can choose what&rsquo;s right for you:

Zero Share Policy
If you prefer that your images are kept entirely private, I&rsquo;m more than happy to honour that. Your online gallery will be secured with a password, and none of your images will be posted anywhere.

Selective Sharing
Some families prefer to have a few images shared, but without showing their children&rsquo;s faces. During our session, I can take specific shots with your little ones&rsquo; backs turned or faces away, so you can still have beautiful family photos to share or for me to use with your permission.

Full Sharing with Flexibility
If you&rsquo;re comfortable with me sharing your session publicly, thank you! I&rsquo;ll always use your images with care and respect. And if at any time you change your mind, just let me know &ndash; I&rsquo;ll take them down right away, no questions asked.

There&rsquo;s no extra cost for privacy. Whatever level of sharing you choose, it&rsquo;s all about what makes you feel best.

A Quick Note About AI
I never share your personal images for AI training, ever. However, I do use Adobe software to edit, and Adobe may anonymously source data from edited images as part of its general service. If you ever want more details on this, feel free to reach out &ndash; I&rsquo;m happy to chat through it.

Last Spring, I had the absolute pleasure of spending an evening with the Shae family at their villa in Florence, Italy. Family Photos in Florence, Italy - The Shaes

There&rsquo;s something incredibly special about photographing a family year after year. Watching them grow, change, and create new memories together is one of the best parts of my job. The Potvin family is no exception. I&rsquo;ve been lucky enough to photograph Steph and Corey since their engagement session &amp; wedding over ten years ago, and every session since has been a joy. This year, we met near their new home at Sauble Beach for their family session, and it was the perfect setting for a laid-back, fun-filled evening. Sauble Beach is one of my favorite places for family photos&mdash;the open shoreline, the soft dunes, and the way the light hits the water at sunset make for absolute magic. From the moment we started, the Potvins were completely in their element. The kids ran barefoot through the sand, collecting little treasures along the shore and giggling as the waves chased their toes. Steph and Corey shared quiet moments, watching their little ones play, and soaking in the beauty of it all. There&rsquo;s something about beach sessions that makes everything feel so effortless&mdash;no stiff poses, just real, candid moments of connection. As the sun dipped lower, we captured some of my favourite images of the evening. The golden light reflected off the water, creating a dreamy glow around the family. The kids wrapped up in cozy blankets, the last bit of energy spent from running in and out of the waves. It was the perfect way to end our session&mdash;happy, sandy, and full of love. Kelsey, Michael, and their adorable 2-year-old son, Nash, took to Downtown Kitchener for a family photoshoot that beautifully encapsulated their love, style, and the vibrant vibes of the urban setting. Becoming a photographer for me was not like many other photographer’s stories. I was not born with a camera in my hand. In fact, the photos I took when I was younger are pretty awful. I was, however, born with an insatiable desire to learn about humans and to help them see themselves in the same light that the people who love them most see them in.
